Communications Minister Urges Telecom Egypt to Handle Cables Theft

Eng. Mahmoud Hani, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, asked Telecom Egypt officials to work on developing innovative and non-traditional solutions to control the theft of cables and the breakdown of telecommunications services, which has been a common scene during the last period.

This request was announced during the minister’s visit to Ramses Public Central and Xceed, which is located in Smart Village during Eid al-Fitr. The Minister also confirmed that Telecom Egypt is the land-line monopolist in Egypt and that it has the largest and most updated infrastructure for communications in the Middle East and Africa, allowing it to provide telecommunications and internet services for all Egyptian companies working in the same field.

He also pointed out that Egypt can be one of the leading countries in the field of telecommunications, based on its geographic location and human cadres.
