Communications Ministry Supplies 10,000 Tablet PCs to Students

Egypt’s communications and education ministries have signed an agreement to supply 10,000 locally-manufactured tablet PCs to university students.

The Egyptian-made handheld computers will be distributed over the next six months to students whom educational authorities believe will most benefit, the two ministries said.

The distribution of PCs will help “technological excellence” in university education and also give encouragement to Egypt’s technology industry, said higher education minister, Hussein Khaled, as Ahram reported.
