Cyprus targets Middle East for tourism growth

Cyprus is targeting tourists from the Middle East to boost its tourism since the sector is a key driver of the country’s GDP.

Kostas Koumis, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Cyprus, visited the UAE recently to boost the relationships between both nations.

“Cyprus is targeting couples and families from the Middle East, as well as expatriates looking for a break to a short-haul island destination,” Koumis said.

“Weddings, gaming lovers, honeymooners, sun and sea lovers and MICE segments are on our target also,” he added

Koumis also said that the beaches in Cyprus have “the best water quality in the EU.” The island also holds history and culture in addition to its marvellous gastronomy.
