Despite Russia’s Ukraine invasion, Lviv’s Cat Café owners won’t leave 20 cats behind

Unlike most of restaurants and businesses shutting down in Ukraine as Russian forces inch closer to the country’s capital, there is one place still remains open; the Cat Café in the western city of Lviv.

The owners of the Cat Café told CNN that they are not leaving Ukraine and under no circumstances will they ever leave their cats behind.

“If we go, who will feed our cats? We will never leave Ukraine…there are 20 cats here to feed and this is our life” The owners of the cat café added.

“They stay because they love their cats. It just made me realise at this moment that people stay for so many different reasons,” reported CNN journalist Erin Brunett.n

The family-owned business houses 20 beautiful and well-behaved cats. Some of these cats are fluffy, some are hairless, and they come in all shapes and sizes.

The friendly felines are seen taking naps and living out their nine lives.  Despite the ongoing threat from Russia, the owner and his wife said they will remain in Lviv because they love their country and their pets.
