Developing nations need $5.9tn to reduce emissions – G20 leaders

The G20 leaders acknowledged that the developing countries will require $5.9 trillion in the pre-2030 period for implementing their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

The leaders added that developing nations will also require $4 trillion per year for clean energy technologies until 2030 to reach net zero emissions by 2050, according to Asharq Business reported on Sunday.

They also agreed to accelerate actions for development and climate challenges, promote lifestyles for sustainable development and conserve biodiversity, forests and oceans.
