Draft Constitution Draft Diminishes Judiciary Powers: Supreme Judicial Council

On Tuesday, Egypt’s Supreme Judicial Council held a meeting to review the draft constitution. During the discussion, it was detected that some articles undermine the powers of judiciary and the general prosecution, and control their independence. There is unwarranted duality from other authorities.

The council affirmed that it will prepare a detailed memorandum tackles what has written in the draft constitution that concern the judiciary power.

The council called on the constituent assembly to draft the constitution to commit to the disciplines that the Supreme Judiciary Council has announced before.
