Education, inflation top public concerns at Egypt Forum, Madbouly says

Education ranks first among Egyptians’ concerns, followed by issues including prices and inflation, healthcare, wages and pensions, and security, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Monday at the opening of Egypt Forum 2026.

The five areas account for around 70 per cent of citizens’ concerns, Madbouly said, adding that the forum’s sessions had been organised around these priorities.

More than half of those registered to participate in the forum are aged between 18 and 35, while more than 5,000 students, including school students, have registered, he said.

Madbouly described the forum as an opportunity to review 12 years of development, assess the challenges facing Egypt and discuss the country’s future priorities.

The event will address 42 questions reflecting public concerns, including what the country has achieved, what remains to be done and the government’s plans through 2030.

Madbouly said the government would present its achievements and plans transparently, including its approach to public debt and the challenges posed by regional developments.

Held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the forum brings together citizens, officials, experts, private-sector representatives, civil society groups, parliamentarians, and political parties.

Its programme includes public sessions, specialised discussions, roundtables, and workshops to examine national priorities and possible responses to current challenges.
