EFSA Received 43 Complaints Against Insurance Companies, Funds In Nov. 2012

The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) has received 43 complaints against insurance companies and insurance funds last November, the same number of complaints it received last October.

About 74.4% of complaints were against non-life insurance companies, 4.7% of which were against life insurance companies, and 20.9% of complaints were against insurance funds.

Supplemental motor insurance sector accounted for 47% and compulsory motor insurance sector accounted for 38% of complaints against non-life insurance sector.

EFSA received 32 were against non-life insurance companies, 9 complaints against insurance funds and 2 complaints against life insurance companies.

48 complaints were concluded in November; of which 21% were in favor of the customers, 71% were in favor of the insurers and 8% were dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.
