EGAS-Egypt Says EGP7bln Dues of Public Sectors’ Firms

The Holding Company for Natural Gas ‘EGAS’ Chairman Khalid Abdul-Badi said the dues of EGAS public sector reached EGP7 billion in the last period as result of consuming large quantities of natural gas and not paying the dues of these shipments.

EGAS sent letters for its public sector firms to schedule dues, explaining that the company has met clients to agree on scheduling its dues from natural gas.

From his part Mahfouz El Bony, EGAS Vice Chairman asserted that the government negotiates to pay part of economic sectors dues for petrol which exceeded EGP80 billion throughout scheduling its dues for Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

The payment of these dues will contribute in continuing the petroleum sector which has high priority in meeting with the needs of electricity sector including natural gas, diesel and fuel, El Bony added.
