EGX 30 Dives 1.99%, OTMT 3.27% Down; Sunday Closing

During Sunday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has extended its early losses to eventually amount to EGP 5.5 billion as the capital market has reach EGP 336.307 billion.

The main index, EGX30 dived 1.99% to end at 4719.01 p.  EGX20 sank 2.65% to close at 5363 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 sagged 2.28% to conclude at 417.96 p.  Price index EGX100 edged down 2.04% to finish at 719.66 p.

Traded volume reached 76.569 million securities worth EGP 160.851 million, exchanged through 13.175 transactions.

This was after trading in 167 listed securities; 144 declined and14 advanced while 9 keeping their previous levels.

The main reason behind EGX 30’s fall was that Egyptians were net sellers seizing  96.81% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.851 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, the non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs  were net buyers seizing 1.26% and 1.93% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.798 million and EGP 52.867 excluding the deals.

Leading Shares:

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards led by the shares owned by Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) which tumbled 3.27% to hit EGP 1.48.

Talaat Moustafa Group:

The shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) sank by 3.04% to reach EGP 3.83.

EFG-Hermes Holding:

The shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) dived 3.00% to hit EGP 10.66.

Commercial International Bank:

The shares owned by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) sagged 2.53% to reach EGP 28.11.

Orascom Telecom Holding:

The shares owned by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) went down 2.18% to reach EGP 3.14.

Orascom Construction Industries:

The shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) decreased by 1.08% to hit EGP 249.81.
