EGX 30 Falls 0.22%, Indices Opened Mixed

During Tuesday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early gains of EGP 191 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 402.507 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 11:00 a.m. Cairo time (09:00 GMT).

EGX indices opened mixed.

The main index, EGX30 slumped by 0.22% to hit 5880.52 p.  EGX20 fell by 0.05% to reach 6887.85 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose by 0.23% to hit 547.84 pts.  Price index EGX100 went up by 0.08% to reach 900.62 p.

Traded volume reached  12.890 million securities worth EGP 20.789 million, exchanged through 1.296 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 86 listed securities; 28 declined 26 advanced while 32 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians were net sellers seizing 87.46% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.048 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, Arabs and non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 11.52% and 1.02% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.922 million and EGP 125.094 thousand excluding the deals.

Leading Shares:

EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance.

Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:

Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)’s stock pushed down by 1.59% to hit EGP 0.62.

EFG-Hermes:

EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) edged down by 0.33% to hit EGP 12.15.

Orascom Construction Industries:

Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)’s stock dipped by 0.25% to hit EGP 269.00.

Citadel Capital:

Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)’s stock inched higher by 0.24% to reach EGP 4.25.
