Egypt’s bourse opened higher on Wednesday with gains worth 3.6 Egyptian pounds bolstered by local and foreign buying appetite. In return, Egypt’s main index – EGX 30 also rallies to near 7590 points at early trading.
The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during the opening session.
Indices
The Benchmark EGX30 climbed by 1.21% to 7589.45 p; EGX20 also pushed up by 1.18% to 9020.58 p.
Additionally, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 surged by 1.64% to 634.13 p. Price index EGX100 grew by 1.46% to 1079.01 p.
Furthermore, market capitalization reached EGP 468.726 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:31 a.m. Cairo time (09:31 GMT).
Turnovers & Trading Volumes
The trading volume has recorded 46.285 million securities, with turnovers reached EGP 262.646 million, exchanged through 8435 transactions during Wednesday opening.
Also during the opening session, 149 listed securities have been traded in; 7 fell, 120 advanced; while 22 keeping their previous levels.
Investors’ Activities
Egyptian and the non-Arab foreigner investors were net buyers on Wednesday seizing 84.01% and 9.46% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 291.127 thousand and EGP 2.785 million respectively, excluding the deals.
On the contrary, Arab investors were net sellers acquiring 6.53% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 3.076 million, excluding the deals.
