EGX 30 Soars 1.04%, EFG-Hermes 2.47% Up; Thursday Closing

During Thursday closing session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has turned its early losses to remarkable gains of EGP 4.22 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 361.204 billion.

The main index, EGX30 climbed by 1.04% to close at 5215.65 p.  EGX20 soared by 1.41% to end at 6084.11 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 jumped 2.73% to conclude at 472.24 p.  Price index EGX100 surged by 2% to finish at 806.19 p.

Traded volume reached 225.720 million securities worth EGP 619.549 million, exchanged 32.604 transactions.

This was after trading in 184 listed securities; 15 declined 166 advanced while 3 keeping their previous levels.

The main reason behind EGX30’s boom was that the Egyptians were net buyers seizing 69% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 22.154 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, Arabs  and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 9.3% and 21.69% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 12.116 million and EGP 10.037 million excluding the deals.

Leading Shares:

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards except for the shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) which tumbled by 0.28% to finish at EGP 3.57.

EFG-Hermes Holding:

Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) led EGX upwards as they soared by 2.47% to conclude at EGP 11.62

Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:

Shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) climbed by 1.75% to close at EGP 0.58.

Talaat Moustafa Group:

Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) surged by 1.56% to end at EGP 4.57.

Citadel Capital:

Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) inched higher by 1.28% to finish at EGP 3.16.

Commercial International Bank:

The shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) went up by  0.73% to close at EGP 28.86.

Orascom Construction Industries:

Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) rose by 0.62% to conclude at EGP 275.70.
