Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the green on Tuesday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went up by 1.63 per cent to 53,989.55 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, advanced by 1.65 per cent to 6,055.8 points.
- The index EGX35-LV climbed by 0.61 per cent to 6,353.9 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, rose by 0.13 per cent, to 17,584.14 points.
- The EGX100 index leaped by 0.36 per cent, to 23,482.05 points.
The total market cap reached 3,946,533,914,327 Egyptian pounds.
Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers, with a total of 15,742,542,453 Egyptian pounds and 6,627,727,296 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, Egyptians were net buyers with 22,370,269,749 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Medical Packaging Company went up by 11.80 per cent to 1.990 pounds a share.
- The shares of Gharbia Islamic Housing Development rose by 11.73 per cent to close at 57.320 pounds a share.
- The shares of Creast Mark For Contracting And Real Estate Development jumped by 10.90 per cent, closing at 1.730 pounds.
Top losers
- The shares of North Cairo Mills dropped by 12.37 per cent to 168.230 pounds at closing.
- The shares of Middle Egypt Flour Mills fell by 9.99 per cent to close at 125.120 pounds a share.
- The shares of South Cairo & Giza Mills & Bakeries sank by 8.88 per cent, closing at 270.340 pounds a share.
