EGX closes in read area on August

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the red area on Monday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 0.34 per cent to 55,164.84 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33, dropped by 0.78 per cent to 6,566.47 points.
  • The index EGX35-LV sank by 0.96 per cent to 6,783.47 points.
  • The SMEs index, EGX70, fell by 1.15 per cent to 21,372.45 points.
  • The EGX100 index plunged by 0.93 per cent, to 27,651.35 points.

The total market cap reached 4,275,356,381,561 Egyptian pounds.

Arabs and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 6,364,931,049 Egyptian pounds and 16,403,731,649 pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptians were net buyers with 22,768,662,697 pounds.

Top gainers 

  1. The shares of Egyptians Real Estate Fund Certificates rose by 19.88 per cent, to close at the price of 24.060 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. climbed by 19.67 per cent, closing at the price of 2.920 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Delta Sugar jumped by 15.62 per cent, to the purchasing price of 60.390 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. The shares of Lotus For Agricultural Investments And Development fell by 13.21 per cent, to close at 1.380 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Cairo Educational Services declined by 8.23 per cent, to close at 153.080 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Creast Mark For Contracting And Real Estate Development dropped by 6.96 per cent, to close at the price of 3.210 Egyptian pounds a share.
