Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the red on Wednesday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30 went down by 1.38 per cent to 54,512.65 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33 dropped by 1.34 per cent to 6,518.41 points.
- The EGX35-LV index sank by 1.88 per cent to 6,740.32 points
- The SMEs index, EGX70 fell by 3.25 per cent to 20,962.17 points.
- The EGX100 index plunged by 2.75 per cent to 27,185.62 points.
The total market cap reached 4,217,052,181,644 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers, with 4,368,614,038 pounds and 6,602,473,084 pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 10,971,087,123 pounds.

- The shares of Lotus For Agricultural Investments And Development went up by 19.94 per cent to 1.708 pounds a share.
- The shares of Certificates Of Odin Egyptian Equity Investment Fund-KASAB climbed by 19.88 per cent to 6.090 pounds a share.
- The shares of Alexandria New Medical Center rose by 19.39 per cent to 154.030 pounds a share.
Top losers
- The shares of Engineering Industries (ICON) dropped by 10.00 per cent to 45.000 pounds a share.
- The shares of Elsaeed Contracting& Real Estate Investment Company SCCD sank by 9.25 per cent to 2.060 pounds a share.
- The shares of Alexandria Flour Mills went down by 8.55 per cent to 230.000 pounds a share.
