EGX closes in red area on Feb 3rd

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the red area on Monday, with the main index, EGX30 going down by 0.55 per cent, to 29,754.77 points.

The Shariah index, EGX33 lost 0.95 per cent to 3,145.47 points.

The SMEs index, EGX70 slid by 1.57 per cent, to 8,445.8 points.

The index, EGX100 index fell by 1.37 per cent, to 11,566.52 points.

The total market capitalisation reached 2,215,009,477,799 Egyptian pounds.

Non-Arab foreigners were net sellers with 1,654,275,970 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers with 1,094,951,487 Egyptian pounds, and 559,324,483 Egyptian pounds, respectively.

Top gainers

  1. Shares of Osool ESB Securities Brokerage (EBSC.CA) jumped by 20.00 per cent, to close at the price of 0.918 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of the Egyptian Company for Construction Development – Lift Slab (EDBM.CA) climbed by 10.47 per cent, to trade at the price of 0.844 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Egyptian Arabian Company Themar for Securities Brokerage SAE (EASB.CA) soared by 8.71 per cent, to the purchasing price of 4.620 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers

  1. Shares of El Arabia for Land Reclamation (EALR.CA) plunged by 11.03 per cent, to close at 61.650 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. Shares of Arab Valves Co SAE (ARVA.CA) sank by 7.89 per cent, to close at 4.320 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. Shares of Cairo Educational Services (CAED.CA) dived by 6.06 per cent, to close at the price of 31.480 Egyptian pounds a share.
