EGX closes in red on March 17

Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the red area on Sunday, with the main index, EGX30 falling by 0.81 per cent, to 31,061.88 points.

The small to mid-size enterprises’ index, EGX70 fell by 0.94 per cent, to 6,819.88 points.

The index, EGX100 index declined by 1.08 per cent, to 9,767.3 points.

The total market cap reached 2,038,539,942,354 Egyptian pounds.

Arabs and non-Arabs foreigners transactions were mainly buying with a total of 726,616,902 Egyptian pounds, and 31,221,981,310 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Egyptians were net sellers with 726,616,902 Egyptian pounds.

Top gainers on Sunday

The shares of Societe Arabe Internationale De Banque S.A.E. (SAIB.CA) jumped by 20.00 per cent, to close at the price of 2.112 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Cairo Oils & Soap (COSG.CA) climbed by 19.53 per cent, to trade at the price of 0.257 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Nasr Company for Civil Works (NCCW.CA) surged by 8.58 per cent, to the purchasing price of 5.060 Egyptian pounds a share.

Top losers on Sunday

The shares of Misr Oils & Soap (MOSC.CA) fell by 11.02 per cent, to close at 49.350 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Contact Financial Holding (CNFN.CA) declined by 9.07 per cent, to close at 5.010 Egyptian pounds a share.

The shares of Misr Chemical Industries (MICH.CA) dropped by 8.48 per cent, to close at the price of 39.390 Egyptian pounds a share.
