EGX closes mostly green on 5 May

Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mostly green on Thursday.

  • The benchmark index, EGX30, went up by 1.12 per cent to 52,557.63 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33, climbed by 0.22 per cent to 5,635.33 points.
  • The index EGX35-LV dropped by 0.03 per cent to 5,818.97 points.
  • The SMEs index, EGX70, jumped by 0.08 per cent, to 14,399.15 points.
  • The EGX100 index advanced by 0.18 per cent, to 20,008.43 points.

The total market cap reached 3,704,562,354,259 Egyptian pounds.

Egyptians were net buyers with 12,733,305,170 Egyptian pounds. On the other hand, the Arabs and the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers, with total of 7,333,567,061 pounds and 5,399,738,109 pounds, respectively.

Top gainers

  1. The shares of South Cairo & Giza Mills & Bakeries went up by 20.00 per cent to 297.600 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of North Cairo Mills rose by 16.87 per cent to close at 137.000 per cent a share.
  3. The shares of Alexandria Flour Mills jumped by 11.02 per cent, closing at 77.600 Egyptian pounds.

To losers

  1. The shares of Delta For Printing & Packaging dropped by 9.55 per cent to 129.780 Egyptian pounds at closing.
  2. The shares of Subscription Rights Of South Valley Cement -1 fell by 8.54 per cent to close at 3.750 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of Tanmiya for Real Estate Investment sank by 3.92 per cent, closing at 4.900 Egyptian pounds a share.
