EGX Gains EGP 2 Bln Backed By Foreign Net Buyers; Midday

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted gains of EGP 2 billion during Sunday’s midday session. The capital market has amounted to EGP 375.092 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 12:53 p.m. Cairo time (10:53 GMT).

The EGX indices were in green during midday’s session.

The main index, EGX30 inched up by 0.59% to 5449.34 p. EGX20 rose by 0.76% to 6284.44 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went up by 0.45% to 481.51 p.  Price index EGX100 edged up 0.45% to 804.52 p.

This was after trading in 156 listed securities; 40 declined, 76 advanced; while 40 keeping their previous levels.

The non-Arab foreigners as well as Arab buying transactions backed EGX’s midday gains as they were net buyers seizing 7.37% and 6.39% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 10.226 million and EGP 6.498 million excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, Egyptians were net sellers seizing 86.24% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 16.725 million excluding the deals.
