EGX Gains EGP 4 Bln Driven By Egyptians, Arabs Purchases

On Sunday’s closing session, the EGX posted gains of EGP 4.125 billion as the capital market has reached EGP 359.387 billion.

The main index, EGX30 soared 1.36% to close at 5083.26 p. EGX20 inched higher 1.18% to close at 5932.06 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 surged 1.30% to close at 438.36 p. Price index EGX100 edged up 1.33% to close at 795.75 p.

Traded volume reached 70.127 million securities worth EGP 269.495 million, exchanged through 18.082 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 175 listed securities; 17 declined and 144 advanced while 14 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 79.42% and 8.91% respectively,   of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 24.657 million and EGP 13.403 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 11.67% with a net equity of EGP 38.060 million, excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares have closed in steeply upwards as Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC) jumped 2.49% to hit EGP 280.26.  Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE) soared 1.50% to reach EGP 3.38. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT) climbed 1.44% to hit EGP 1.41.

Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI) edged up 0.77% to reach EGP 26.26.

On the other hand, EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO) sank 1.20% to reach EGP 13.17.
