EGX Loses EGP 2.6 Bln, Orascom Telecom 4.06% Down; Monday Midday

Whilst Monday’s midday trading, EGX posted losses of EGP 2.6 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 340.959 billion in 10:52 GMT.

The main index, EGX30 inched lower 1.69% to hit 4742.97 p. EGX20 dived 2.19% to reach 5416.12 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged down 0.66% to reach 412.74 p. Price index EGX100 went down 1.84% to hit 749.59 p.

Traded volume reached 36.661 million securities worth EGP 119.977 million, exchanged through 8.000 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 140 listed securities; 96 declined and 22 advanced while 22 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 85.89% and 11.11% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.737 million and EGP 3.182 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, Arabs were net buyers seizing 3% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 5.920 million excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective downwards led by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) which dived 4.06% hitting EGP 3.07. Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) sank 2.55% reaching EGP 24.48. Shares owned by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) went lower 1.88% reaching EGP 10.45. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) edged down 1.50% hitting EGP 1.31.

Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) went down 1.16%  reaching EGP 266.
