EGX Loses EGP 2.6 Mln, Orascom Telecom 4.31% Down; Midday

On Thursday’s midday session, the EGX lost EGP 2.67 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 249.641 billion at 11:04 GMT (13:04 pm in Cairo).

The main index, EGX30 inched lower 0.93% to reach 4909.38 p. EGX20 sank 1.47% to hit 5652.36 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 sagged 1.15% to reach 421.44 p. Price index EGX100 went down 0.61% to hit 773.31 p.

Traded volume reached 52.933 million securities worth EGP 216.152 million, exchanged through 12.269 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 158 listed securities; 133 declined and 16 advanced while 9 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 74.01% and 4.91% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 12.211 million and EGP 3.905 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 21.09%, with a net equity of EGP 17.116 million, excluding the deals.

On EGX’s leading shares, downwards were led by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) which dived 4.31% to hit EGP 3.11. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) sank 3.60% to reach EGP 1.34. EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) edged down 3.23% to reach EGP 11.70.  Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) went down 2.05% to reach EGP 25.36.

On the other hand, EGX’s top gainer was Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) which surged 0.69% to hit 275.60.
