EGX Losses EGP 918 Mln, Hermes 1.18% Down; Monday Closing

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) had on Monday’s closing posted losses of EGP 918 million  as the capital market has reached EGP 332.553 billion.

The main index, EGX30 inched lower 0.35% to hit 4609.48 p.  EGX20 shed 1% to reach 5234.19 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged down 0.16% to hit 402.35 p. Price index EGX100 sagged 0.97% to reach 716.25 p.

Traded volume reached 42.736 million securities worth EGP 155.386 million, exchanged through 11.562  thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 159 listed securities; 68 declined and 63 advanced while 28 keeping their previous levels.

Non-Arab Foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 22.42% and 7.07% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.954 million and EGP 6.025 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, Egyptians were net buyers seizing 70.51% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.978 million excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance. Shares owned by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) climbed by 1.48% to hit EGP 24.75. Shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) witnessed no change hitting EGP 1.29.

Leading EGX’s downwards, shares owned by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) sagged 1.18% reaching EGP 10.88. shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched lower 0.65% reaching EGP 3.04. Shares of Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) shed 0.12% hitting EGP 253.51.
