EGX Main Index Reaches 4700 pts

On Thursday’s midday session, the EGX posted gains of EGP 706 million as the capital market amounted to EGP 342.972 billion at 10.40 GMT (12: 40 pm in Cairo).

The main index, EGX 30 climbed 0.60% to reach 4700.41 p. EGX20 went up 0.67% to reach 5443.12 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose 0.42% to reach 427.13 p. Price index EGX100 surged 0.45% to reach 751.43 p.

Traded volume reached million 13.821 securities worth EGP 66.932 million, exchanged through 5.562 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 142 listed securities; 33 down and 86 up while 23 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 60.02% and 4.85% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2.912 million and EGP 754.694 thousand, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, the non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 35.13%, with a net equity of EGP 3.669million, excluding the deals.
