EGX opens Wednesday’s trading session in green on Arab buying
Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of Arab buying.
By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 60.12 points, or 0.34 percent, to 17,874 points.
The small- and medium-caps EGX70 index added 0.49 percent to 878.16 points, and the broader EGX100 index leveled up 0.2 percent to 2,274 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.39 percent to 3,037 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 24.4 million shares exchanged through 3,300 transactions with a turnover of 149.5 million.
Arab investors were net buyers with 14.9 million Egyptian pounds, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net sellers with 8.5 million pounds and 6.4 million pounds, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) gained 0.97 percent to 92.5 pounds with a turnover of 1,200 pounds.
