Egypt Agrees To Buy 60,000 Tons Of U.S. Wheat In Tender

Egypt, the world’s biggest wheat importer, agreed to buy 60,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat at a tender today for shipment between March 1 and March 10, Nomani Nomani, vice chairman of the state-run General Authority for Supply Commodities, said.

The authority, known as Gasc, bought soft red winter wheat at $306.80 a ton from Venus International, Nomani said.
