Egypt Army Compensates Victims In Collapse Of Bridge-Under-Construction

The spokesperson of the Egyptian military Colonel Ahmed Ali said the army will pay LE100,000 to families of four people who were killed Saturday evening in a construction accident in Souq El-Obour area in the Nasr City district of Cairo.

Four passengers of a microbus were killed and six others injured when a “solid body” fell from a pedestrian bridge, which is being built by a civilian construction company contracted by the armed forces.

Ali said that the army, which manages numerous construction projects around the country, will open an immediate investigation into the accident.

He added that the army will pay LE25,000 to those injured.
