Egypt Bourse Benchmark Climbs above 6855 at Midday amid Arab Buying Appetite

Egyptian stocks have surged during the midday session of Wednesday powered by Arab net buyers. The benchmark index climbed above 6855 points on Wednesday noon.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during the midday session.

The Benchmark EGX30 pushed up by 1.21% to 6857.45 p; while EGX20 grew by 1.47% to 7975.08 p.

Additionally, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 increased by 0.68% to 546.33 p.  Price index EGX100 advanced by 0.78% to 929.52 p.

The capital market has hit on Wednesday midday EGP 430.676 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 12:57 p.m. Cairo time (10:57GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 128.672 million securities worth EGP 294.341 million, exchanged through 11.221  transactions during Wednesday midday.

Also during the midday session, 158 listed securities have been traded in; 18 fell, 123 advanced; while 17 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arabs were net buyers acquiring 10.24% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 35.000 million, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Egyptians and the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers seizing 88.17% and 1.59% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 34.808 million and EGP 192.074 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.
