Egypt Bourse end this Week Bearish with EGP2.2bn Losses

Egypt’s stocks finished lower on Thursday with losses worth 2.2 billion Egyptian pounds (US$ 288.2 million).

The market capitalization has recorded 498.003 billion pounds during the closing session of Thursday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 slided by 1.40 percent to 8780.76 points.

EGX20 edged lower 1.50 percent to 9202.15 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 dropped by 0.83 percent to 463.63 points.

The price index, EGX100 went down by 0.71 percent to 978.66 points.

Turnovers low

On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has registered 122.446 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 492.421 million, exchanged through 17.546 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 169 listed securities have been traded in; 98 declined, 40advanced; while 28 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and Non-Arab investors were net sellers on Thursday getting 5.53 % and 18.38% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 12.095 million and EGP 18.382 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Egyptians investors were net buyers capturing 83.24% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 30.478 million, excluding the deals.
