Egypt Bourse ends Ramadan with US$612 mln Gains

Egypt’s stocks went higher at the last day of the Holy Month Ramadan attaining gains worth 4.79 billion Egyptian pounds (US$611.6 million).

The market capitalisation has recorded 486.537 billion pounds during the closing session of Thursday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 increased by 1.78 percent to 8022.91 points.

EGX20 jumped by 2.59 percent to 8086.79 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 boosted by 1.02 percent to 432.26 points. The price index, EGX100 edged higher by 1.43 percent to 902.24 points.

Turnovers high

On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 212.076 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 677.398 million, exchanged through 19.382 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 167 listed securities have been traded in; 26 declined, 107 advanced; while 31 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and non-Arab investors were net buyers on Thursday getting 6.11% and 17.08% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 11.755 million and EGP 37.189 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Egyptian investors were net sellers seizing 76.81% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 48.945 million, excluding the deals.
