Egypt Bourse Eyes Futures Exchange Inception

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Chairman Dr. Mohamed Omran made his closing remarks on Tuesday to the 53rd General Assembly and Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), which is hosted by the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (Mexican Stock Exchange) (BMV).

On the sidelines of the WFE’s General Assembly and Annual Meeting, Dr. Omran has met Tuesday morning chairmen of Singapore Exchange (SGX), Nasdaq OMX, Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), NYSE Euronext,  Korea Exchange (KRX), and India’s National Stock Exchange (NSE) to benefit from their markets’ expertise in the Futures Exchanges.

During the meeting, Omran had reviewed the economic feasibility of Egyptian bourse’s plans to establish the Futures exchange in terms of the timing, types of financial instruments that can be traded in, trading system and the clearing as well as settlement mechanisms.
