Egypt Bourse starts the Week with EGP5.4 billion Losses

Egypt’s stocks finished lower on Sunday with losses worth 5.4 billion Egyptian pounds (US$707.5 million).

The market capitalization has recorded 495.705 billion pounds during the closing session of Sunday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 dropped by 1.45 percent to 8782.55 points.

EGX20 went down by 1.74 percent to 9267.01 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 edged down by 1.76 percent to 469.72 points. The price index, EGX100 slided by 1.52 percent to 985.75 points.

Turnovers low

On Sunday, the bourse’s trading volume has recorded 144.805 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 577.690 million, exchanged through 18.440 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 171 listed securities have been traded in; 119 declined, 20 advanced; while 29 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and Non-Arab investors were net buyers on Sunday getting 83.79% and 8.24% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.430 million and EGP 12.973 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Arab investors were net sellers seizing 7.97% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 19.403 million, excluding the deals.
