Egypt, China call for end to Sudan war, Sudanese-led political process

Egypt and China called on Wednesday for an end to the war in Sudan and an inclusive political process led by Sudanese parties, according to a joint statement.

The two countries stressed the need to respect Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and preserve its national institutions.

They also reiterated their opposition to foreign interference in Sudan’s internal affairs.

Egypt and China said they would work together to help end the conflict and support an inclusive, Sudanese-led political process.

The statement followed talks between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Chinese President Xi Jinping during Xi’s state visit to Egypt.

The two countries also called for closer political and security coordination on regional and international issues, saying their cooperation should contribute to peace, stability, and development.

China praised Egypt’s role in promoting regional security and stability, and its efforts to find political solutions to geopolitical crises in the Middle East.
