Egypt-China trade falls 24% in 4 months– CAPMAS

Trade between Egypt and China fell by 24 percent equivalent to $1.1billion in 4 months due to the consequences of the coronavirus, the Egyptian official statistics agency CAPMAS said in a recent report.

Bilateral trade in the aforementioned period registered $ 3.334 billion, compared to $ 4.411 billion during the same period in 2019

China has captured 10.8 percent of Egypt’s total foreign trade during the first month of 2020, the report read.

In April, bilateral trade dropped by around 42.5 percent to $624.147 million from $1.08 billion in the same month last year, the CAPMAS report added.
