Egypt condemns Paris shooting: foreign ministry

The spokesperson for Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Abu Zeid, condemned in the strongest terms the shooting incident that took place on Thursday evening in the French capital Paris, killing a policeman and injuring two others.

In a press statement, on Friday, Abu Zeid reiterated Egypt’s stance calling for a firm response to all terrorist organizations, to end these despicable acts.

He expressed condolences to the family of the victim and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

Abu Zeid stressed Egypt’s continued support for the French government and people against terrorism which unequivocally threatens all countries.

A French policeman was shot dead and two others were wounded in central Paris on Thursday night in an attack carried out days before presidential elections and quickly claimed by the Islamic State militant group, according to Reuters.
