Egypt confirms 157 new coronavirus cases, 14 deaths

Egypt recorded on Tuesday 157 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 3,490, according to a healthy ministry statement.

The country also reported 14 new deaths linked to the novel coronavirus pandemic, bringing the total to 264, the ministry added.

Forty-nine people have recovered and were released from quarantine hospitals, which brings the total number of recoveries to 870.

The new cases, all Egyptians, were detected through the ministry’s investigation and contact tracing protocols, health ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said.
