Egypt contracts to import 25K tons of frozen Brazilian poultry

Egypt’s Minister of Supply, Ali Moslehy, has confirmed the completion Brazilan contract of importing 25,000 tons of frozen poultry to the country, according to the Ministry’s statement in Sunday.

Moselhi pointed out that the Egyptian ports, including Port Said – Alexandria will receive between 3,362 tons and 234 kilos of frozen poultry on next Thursday, the statement added.

Both ports have taken the necessary measures to receive these quantities, with an emphasis on the speed of customs release of shipments that arrive directly, Moselhy stressed.

The statement stated that these poultry are slaughtered according to Islamic law in Brazil, as it will lay under a medical examination carried out in the country through ad hoc committees of Egyptian Veterinary Quarantine and the Ministry of Supply.
