Egypt Deputy PM Receives Proposals on Amend ‘Access to Information’ Law

Eng. Atef Helmy, Egyptian Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Minister, has asserted that the Ministry submitted its proposals to amend the existing law to regulate access to information to Dr. Ziad Bahaa El-Din, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

Helmy added that Dr. Bahaa El-Din interested in this law, expecting that last amendments of the law will be discussed to approve the last amendments and start putting legislation regarding Freedom of information.

Helmy has emphasized that Freedom law is one of the national reconciliation initiative which offered by the government, adding that the current priority of the Ministry is focusing on the amendment of draft law.
