Egypt extends temporary billet fees until October

Egyptian iron rolling factories have received a notice saying that the decision of the ministry of industry and trade to impose anti-dumping duties of 16 percent on imported iron billets will be effective until October, according to Tarek El-Gioushy.

The member of the chamber of metallurgical industries at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) told Amwal Al Ghad the ministry will extend the period of imposing dumping duties past April 2020 as previously decided.

In 2019, the country’s ministry of trade and industry issued a decision to temporarily impose a new 16 percent fee on iron billets and a 25 percent fees steel rebars.
