Egypt implementing 4632 units in Dar Misr middle-income housing project

Egypt is implementing 4,632 units in 10th of Ramadan City as part of Dar Misr, a state middle-income flagship housing project, Egyptian Minister of Housing announced Wednesday.

During a visit to the location of the project, Egyptian Minister of Housing Moustafa Madbouli said the country is carrying out around 2,832 residential units in the first phase, including 1,752 units in Megawra 65 district, 1,080 in Megawra 56.

As for the second phase, works are underway for 1,800 units, he added.

In November 2014, the housing ministry launched Dar Misr, a project that aims to build 150,000 middle-income homes on the outskirts of satellite communities like 6 October and 10 Ramadan cities. Officials say the project is meant to set a market standard for Egypt’s booming middle-income housing market, ultimately bringing prices more in line with what middle-income Egyptians can afford.
