Egypt imposes 4-month anti-dumping duties on China, Turkey, Ukraine rebar

Egypt has imposed temporary anti-dumping duties on rebar imports from China, Turkey, and Ukraine for four months, the trade ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The duties will be set at 17 percent for Chinese rebar imports, 10-19 percent for Turkish, and 15-27 percent for Ukrainian, it said.

“The decision comes following a thorough study…and is intended to protect local manufacturing from harmful practices by imported alternatives,” Trade Minister Tarek Qabil said in the statement.
