Egypt imposes anti-dumping duty on cold rolled sheet from China, Russia, Belguim

Egypt’s Ministry of Trade & Industry has imposed anti-dumping duties on cold rolled sheet from China, Russia, and Belguim for five years.

Chinese r cold rolled sheet will be subject to a 17 percent tariff, while Belgium will be subjected to 15 percent and Russia 10 percent.

The resolution is one of the ministry’s strategic principles 2020 that include protecting, supporting and promoting local industry, in addition to setting regulations for imports and confronting the random importing idea.

The data shows that the volume of cold rolled sheet production has reached 570,000 tons annually, while the total value of import has registered 150,000 tons. if the imports bill is decreased the local production would be able to satisfy the local market needs.
