Egypt-Iraq Joint Committee to Be Reactivated – Diplomat

Iraqi Ambassador in Cairo Diaa al-Dabbas said that Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi will start a two-day official visit to Cairo on Sunday.

He will hold talks with Egyptian officials over ways of combating terrorism in the two countries.

Abadi will meet with his Egyptian counterpart Ibrahim Mahlab to discuss ways of coordinating anti-terror efforts and bolstering bilateral economic ties.The ambassador added that the two sides’ talks would tackle reactivation of the Egyptian-Iraqi joint committee after a 15-year long hiatus and the Egyptian companies’ participation in the reconstruction of Iraq especially in the fields of infrastructure, energy and water desalination.
