Egypt, Japan to build medical lab tests equipment plant

UG Medical, based in Egypt, is set to build a factory to produce medical lab test equipment in partnership with a Japanese firm, announced the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) on Sunday.

The factory is set to have an investment amount of 600 million Egyptian pound, established on an area of 3,500 square metres in the IDA’s Katameya industrial zone.

The new project is expected to fulfil the local market’s demand and export up to 70 percent of production to international markets, which will include South America, Africa, and the Middle East.
