Volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan reached $728 million in the first nine months of 2024, a notable increase from the $637 million recorded in the same period of 2023, according to Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics.
Egyptian exports to Jordan surged to $546 million in nine months of 2024, up from $498 million in the previous year. Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from Jordan rose to $182 million, compared to $139 million in 2023.
Jordan investments in Egypt amounted to $134 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, while Egyptian investments in Jordan stood at $183.6 million during the same period, CAPMAS added in its report.
Remittances from Egyptians working in Jordan fell to $415.3 million in fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $792.9 million in 2021/2022. However, remittances from Jordanians working in Egypt dropped to $5.6 million, from $9.6 million in the previous fiscal year.
