Egypt launches global biodiversity agreement online forum

Egypt’s Minster of Environment Yasmine Fouad announced on Sunday that the government has launched an online forum for collecting the financial support and obligations needed for the international biodiversity agreement.

During the UN Environment Assembly took place in Kenya from March 11-15, Fouad said that Egypt successfully hosted the biodiversity conference in Sharm el-Sheikh in November with the participation of 7000 presidents, experts and representatives from non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Fouad pointed out that the conference has taken 75 decisions and recommendations to saving the world’s biodiversity.

The conference covered policies, financing, technologies, partnerships and multi stakeholder processes and was key to tackling many environmental challenges, as well as to speeding up sustainable development more generally as part of Egypt’s 2030 agenda.
