Egypt mulls restructuring economic authorities
Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly discussed a detailed report on the efforts of restructuring economic authorities with Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat.
The report outlined key recommendations, including retaining 29 economic authorities, dissolving one, merging three into other entities, and converting seven economic authorities into public authorities for specific considerations. The study of 19 remaining authorities is expected to conclude soon, with a final report to be presented to the Cabinet.
The second phase of the plan will involve detailed restructuring to improve efficiency, aiming to increase the contribution of these authorities to the gross domestic product (GDP).
