Egypt negotiating $150 million financial assistance from USAID

Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation is negotiating a $150 million financial assistance from the US Agency for International Development (USAID), a government source told Amwal Al Ghad on Wednesday.

The money will finance developmental projects in the country, in education, health, and other sectors, the source added but declined to tell a timeframe to receive the USAID assistance.

U.S. developmental assistance to Egypt through the USAID has reached stood at $2.651 billion, representing 5.59 percent of foreign developmental assistance to the North African country, according to data published on the Egyptian ministry’s official website.
