Egypt prefer to play Brazil over Germany or Spain in World Cup

The Egyptian national team’s assistant coach Usama Nabih has revealed that his side would prefer to face Brazil in the group stage of the World Cup rather than Germany or Spain.

“Brazil plays open football that would allow us to use empty spaces in the field to make counter attacks, but Germany or Spain are more organised tactically,” Nabih told an Egyptian sports show on Tuesday.

The Pharaohs, same as Brazil, Spain and Germany, have earned qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, after Mohamed Salah’s double against Congo, ending a 28-year absence from the international competition.

“The ability to qualify for the next stage of the World Cup depends on the group opponents the draw will reveal on 1 December,” Nabih added.

Under the helm of Argentinean tactician Hector Cuper, Egypt will choose opponents to meet in friendlies ahead of the world’s most prestigious football tournament, in accordance with the draw results.

The African giants will end the qualifiers by playing against Ghana away in Akra in a meaningless game after they topped group E with 12 points, four before second-placed Uganda, with only one game remaining.
